LARGE MID 19TH CENTURY ITALIAN MAIOLICA 'TULIPIERE' IN THREE SECTIONS
WITH NINETEEN NOZZLES, SAVONA, ITALY CIRCA 1860

Tin glazed earthenware in cobalt blue on a milky white ground on three levels with nineteen orifices depicting scenes of a couple dancing, a pair of warriors in armour and a small dog with cherubs, buildings, rocks, tress and plants. The circular base with a leaf design, bordered by blue. The three levels have separate reservoirs for water descending in size from the base to the top.
Signed on the vase with a coq
