Three quarter length portrait of a woman seated with a small black and white dog on her lap. She wears a pearl necklace, pearl earrings and her dress is adorned with pearls. In her right hand she holds a pomegranate, a symbol of fertility, marriage and rebirth.
Oil on canvas, France circa 1720.
In a modern gessoed, water gilt and painted frame.
