Label on the rear with the mark of the weavers and signed by J Picart le Doux.
Provenance: By descent from the artist's family.
The tapestry is in excellent condition.
Jean Picart Le Doux is considered to be a 'un grand maître' of Aubusson tapestries, producing over 400 tapestries during his life time,
he was the son of the painter Charles Picart Le Doux, a contemporary of the painter Jean Lurçat, he became vice president of the APCT (Association des peintres-cartonniers de tapisserie), the association of cartoon painters.
