EARLY 18TH CENTURY AUBUSSON VERDURE TAPESTRY
With a castle in the background on the banks of a river which runs through to the foreground under a bridge. On the right bank is a tower which appears to be on fire. On the river is a single sailboat. In the foreground on the left is a large oak tree. Surrounded by a double plain border in ochre and taupe.
Woven in wools and silk, France cira 1730.
The tapestry is in very good condition with some old repairs, it has been recently re-backed with linen and cleaned.It is ready to be hung.
