ALEXANDER THE GREAT

In the foreground stands Alexander the Great in full armour with his shield and headdress ready to lead his troops into combat, around him are further signs of military success; helmets adorned with ostrich feathers, decorated shields and urns full of coins. Behind him in the landscape a battle being fought can be seen.
Surrounded by a red border imitating a picture frame
. Woven in wool and silk and backed in linen and ready to hang.
The colours predominantly red, blue and yellow. The tapestry is in good condition, there are old repairs throughout, see photographs.
