LARGE FLEMISH 17TH CENTURY “VERDURE BLEUE” TAPESTRY
Woven in wool and silk, with a huge wooded view with numerous animals and birds.
Surrounded by a rich border of flowers and fruit. With vibrant colours and fine details.
Probably Audenarde. Circa 1650

Provenance: The tapestry is reputed to have been part of the collection of the Château de Biron in the Dordogne, south west France. Biron was the seat of one of the four baronies of Périgord and belonged to the Dukes de Gontaut Biron family over seven centuries.
The tapestry is in excellent condition, fully backed and ready to hang.
