LATE 16TH CENTURY FLEMISH TAPESTRY OF A HUNTING SCENE
Depicting huntsmen and women mounted and on foot armed with spears, bows and arrows and dogs surrounding a deer in the centre.
In the background a castle surrounded by trees and more formal gardens can be seen.
Small bodies of water, green leaves and foliage throughout. With an elaborate border depicting flowers, fruit and allegorical
figures with musical instruments and weapons.
Oudenaarde, circa 1580
Woven in wool and silk, the tapestry is backed in cotton and ready to hang.
